Twitter followers, I have a colleague who is developing an intro to military history course for undergrads. He, like me, is also an area-studies scholar and so wants to shy away from euro-centric/american-centric texts. Any recommendations for pretty comprehensive surveys?

FWIW, I can speak to the textbook's effectiveness. It also has pretty ample notes, which is good if you want to send the students off on research papers - they can use chapters as starting points.
