I'd love to see more LoTR in general. Especially kit reviews would be very interesting, primarily of the Elves of the Last Alliance and Lothlórien in Peter Jackson's film adaption. And the Siege of Gondor analysis was awesome; maybe something similar for Helm's Deep?

Helm's Deep is on the 'to-do' list, but not any time in the immediate future - Siege of Gondor was a pretty massive undertaking, and it took a long time. I do want to do some LotR kit reviews though, with some book/film contrasts.

Also a look at a Total War game would be a guaranteed hit, I think.

1. One thing I noticed in your GoT posts was that you essentially ignored supernatural considerations (e.g. that Bran's need for armies might lessened by his apparent ability to commandeer both animal and human bodies, or discover all of anyone's secrets).

2. While the above isn't a criticism - speculating about the exact effects of vaguely-defined fantasy powers doesn't seem terribly productive - I was wondering about historical examples of perceived supernatural powers influencing political/military/cultural trends and events.

3. Off the top of my head I'm thinking of the Greek oracles, or the supposed influence of chickens on Roman war-making, but what else is there, and what form did all of this actually take? I recently discovered your blog and it's an amazing read, by the way. Thank you! 8^)

Some of this is actually already brewing. We're going to be talking, this week or next, about how oath-taking works and its supernatural connotations. But the influence of ritual and religious affairs on war is huge and we'll definitely talk more about it as we go.

I’d like to see something with a focus on the infantry portion of battles and ideas for improved representation in media/games. Could go in depth on the nature/fluidity of battle lines, the role of units, the density of formations, lulls/rotating fresh troops.

Definitely on the to-do list.
