the FCC is independent, its commissioners are appointees of POTUS and congress has no authority over it just like how they have no authority over the FBI. People going nuts over this "vote" are not educated.
-
Appreciate the distinction. I agree with you

It will most likely get enough support in the House to pass, IF there is a vote on it. Given the way MSM & news is now, anything an ISP doesn't endorse will be squeezed out in favor if their viewpoint.

You don't think it's significant that the minority party in the Senate passed a CRA on Net Neutrality in the Republican controlled Senate? That's a bigger deal than you are leading on.

The Dems have been using this for a while. The problem is they have been phrasing it in a way that if it passes the Senate, then all is good! They leave out the House and President role in this.

Mainly I think representatives in the Senate voted this way as a means to appeal to the internet community that was so concernes about this issue. Despite the likely outcome in the House to vote opposingly this action

The vote was 52-47, even the house passed. It wouldn't escape veto from the President.

My apologies. When I read "bill" I thought law or something similar. In my mind I catagorize Congressional Review Act as a different measure. But also calling it a "Trump net neutrality bill" is also a bit misleading. It's more of an FCC decision...

Which of cousre is headed by Trump appointed Chairman Pai.
-
Now let's move on to something related but REALLY interesting: having a policy on net neutrality actually written into law. Make it more than just some FCC policy

What was the reason for getting rid of it in the first place?
-
AT&T, Comcast, Verizon, and etc. (most of which are among the most hated in America) want to make more money while providing worse service. Verizon won a court case against the FCC in 2014, and since then it and others have "lobbied" congressmen to avoid passing new legislation.
