Thank you for the report! Only problem/question I have is all the demand for tapping into vast supplies of U.S. oil resources, "Drill, Baby, Drill" to protect U.S.consumers from volatile global markets, U.S.would just produce and dump more oil into markets? Misled?

I don't understand the rise in gas at all. Isn't Eagle Ford one of the largest oil field? Were were assured that our gas prices would stay low, because America was producing more oil?

We all remeber "drill baby drill" and the other oldy but goody, "America needs to quit relying solely on foreign oil and become oil independent"! Am I missing something, misled?

You should also include the taxes States have put on gasoline.

SPOILER: Because “speculators” make up prices when they think people will be going on vacation.

So why aren't those types of prices not being passed on to the rest of America? I doubt thunk we would get it for that low of a price, but paying $2.56 per gallon is ridiculous! I'm glad you have a job that affords you that price!

Simple answer. It is called price gouging. It happens every year at this time.

Can you find out who started jacking up the price. Surely there must be a beginning point.

I'm sure it's Obama's fault. Has nothing to do with speculators using Trump's foolish pullout of the Iran deal to drive up prices. </sarc>

Industry charges more because... They can. If someone sneezes in Middle East, price goes up. If wind blows in Gulf of Mexico, price goes up. If weather gets better, price goes up. If...whatever, price goes up.

We always pay more at the pump during the summer. It's not rocket science. Other price pressures include demand, price of crude, OPEC, number of refineries online and what blend they are refining etc. But the price always starts to rise this time of year...year in, year out.
