I was asked what the President might say. And I said that zero has been done even after Las Vegas. What is your solution?https://twitter.com/eelarson/status/964162888448569344 …

If schools become fortresses, then shooters will just find their targets in other ways, such as in security lines or parking lots. You're not proposing an actual solution.

The left’s only solution is disarming everyone. They love an unarmed populace. We can make schools safe the same way we make air travel safe. The airports are not “fortresses”, but they are secure. And BTW, what’s wrong with your kids being inside a fortress? Sounds safe to me.

There are schools on military bases all over the country. These are inside of the fortress. There are literally guns all around them. Those kids are safer than the kids in the public schools off base. So fortresses for our kids. Yeah. Beats disarming the law abiding

Doing that to all schools is a bandaid and does not solve the underlying problem

He should not have been given a gun given his history. That needs to be fixed. Also, there are certain types of guns that the regular public should not have access to

The Bible says in the end times that peopls hearts will grow cold and lawlessness will abound. There is no law that can change that. Unfortunately, it's going to get much worse.

There is no perfect solution. In a free society, we choose a certain amount of risk in exchange for our freedoms. It's the same thing as the speed limit.

Protect our children as well as we protect our politicians. Federal Capitol as well as most state capitols have armed police depts whose sole responsibility is to protect those inside.

I believe every school should be responsible for protecting it's students. Each school should have security guards with loaded pistols and rifles. Every class room should have an alert button of location of threat..which goes to guards. You fight guns with guns. Not complicated.

Perhaps we should think about taking guns from radical groups. They are the ones who think of killing. Antifa, ISIS radicals, etc. Normal owners of guns do not kill, nor do NRA members.

Add high-powered semi-automatic rifles (DON'T call them 'assault rifles') to the National Firearms Act (& subsequent legislation) that successfully regulates automatic weapons.

Technically, an AR .223 is not considered a high-caliber round. Would have to define "high powered"

Exactly. Can't go by caliber, and we would have to come up with a definition to use for high powered. (the industry probably has their own actually).

Waiting for your proposal for regulation, both rifles are semi automactic, shoot the same .223 bullet and both can use extended clips

My answer is Abolish the gun-free zone that schools carry. Train teachers well (mandatory), allow concealed carry (optional), so they can protect our children. Teachers are already motivated to do so! This will solve any nut case that dare approach a school again.
