These elected officials do not work for or serve the American people...they are in it for themselves - wealth and power...and we keep electing them!

Not until corporate lobbying and the $$$ from interest groups stop lining these guys pockets will any change happen. Or, stop voting for republicans.

A “solution” would end (our masters self-absorbed) relevance. Ergo, under no circumstances will “work” towards be anything more than sounding and seeming sincere. Fools, over and over again, are we! Alas, in death resolve; peace.

And all our yesterdays have lighted fools The way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle! Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player That struts and frets his hour upon the stage And then is heard no more. It is a tale Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury Signifying nothing.

So clearly it's about solidifying party power and not actually getting things done. This is not about Dems because GOP does the same. It's about the system reaching a level that's so ineffective we can officially call it broken.

Did you ever notice all politicians (all parties) at every level want to talk about the problems, not solve them. They collect PAC donations and tell their constituents they are 'working on it and need more time'

Term limits!!!
-
Amen!!!

-
Term limits alone won't do it. You have to elect people with a different mindset that are willing to compromise. I know, that describes nobody. We need to find them.
-
Spot on Craigm! That would be a partial remedy! The real fix is finding reasonable & fair minded people willing to provide & achieve solutions! A very tiny pool indeed!!

Yep. Plus, multi year campaigns = no time to legislate. Imagine the good that could be done with all that campaign money too.

Which is one of the BEST reasons for term limits. Serving in Congress should not be a career, it should be a privilege for a defined period of time, i.e. maximum 12 years in the Senate, 10 years in the house. We need to break the trend of "aristocratic" governing class
