    Bret Baier Retweeted Senate Judiciary

Senate judiciary staff is laying out what they have done to investigate. And they are laying the groundwork to say “We tried” and Democrats never participated before the vote - which will come soon after a Monday no show.https://twitter.com/senjudiciary/status/1042826343937966085 …

Her attorneys say there needs to be an investigation, which is exactly what the committee has been doing all week. And we would love to hear from Dr. Ford. Democratic staff is invited to participate fully every step of the way.

Just saw she will testify if “The terms are fair” Here’s a concept.... They ask questions, you answer said questions!!! Fair enough?

Important caveat: She wants an *impartial* investigation, conducted by qualified investigators. There’s precedent for involving the FBI, and there’s time for them to do their work. The deadline is arbitrary.

The FBI got involved due to the working relationship between Thomas and Hill, in federal jobs where she was his subordinate. Plus, the investigation took place prior to the accusation being made public when there were few facts to present to the Judiciary Committee.

MS. Ford must know that investigators will do a complete profile of her as well as the alleged perpetrator that is how investigators work and it is very probable that her profile will be very revealing as to motive! Behind the alleged offense .

How many times can it be said? A witness claiming to possess evidence relevant to confirmation vote has been afforded to provide evidence in several ways. Witnesses don’t get to dictate that the FBI investigate 36 year old allegations as pre-condition of testifying. Full stop.

Yes, she hasn’t been subpoenaed. Her accusation is relevant to his fitness as a Supreme Court justice. She has been provided an opportunity to testify. If she declines, they vote without her evidence. It’s that simple. This process has become a cartoon.

The pervasive lack of understanding of who does what and when in our governmental system is a testament to tragic failure of public education.

Would you fire someone you knew for years if someone came up and said they were groped by that person 35 years ago and gave no other information and didn’t back up the claim when you asked for more details?
