I was the first to break that. This is the SECOND half of the problem that nobody mentions: Businesses KNOWINGLY employing illegals. Nobody uses e-verify since the mandate of its use got rescinded.

It’s not the SECOND part it’s really the FIRST.

When are we going to fine/charge employers who do not verify status?

Brett. Can you discuss who he was working for? And how/why he was employed by a prominent GOP donor/leader who has an Iowa farm? How does that Republican message reconcile?
-
Would be better if they didn’t use instances like this as justification for their inhumane immigration policies. Pure fear tactic. We Americans are more of a danger to ourselves.https://www.cato.org/blog/murder-mollie-tibbetts-illegal-immigrant-crime-facts …

Inhumane? People that are here illegally shouldn’t be here and need to go! She would be alive if we forced our laws!
-
Same could be said for all the school shootings in this country. I suppose you feel the same about guns?
-
That people should follow gun laws? Yes.
-
But you want to make the immigration laws stricter and keep the gun laws the same and just enforce them. You don’t see that disconnect?
-
Enforce all gun laws. Enforce all immigration laws. I support both.

All you need is a valid SSN from a living person to clear E-Verify.

Either way, attention to his legal status is just an effort to scapegoat a whole class of people; use a criminal to stigmatize the rest. Hitler used this technique to get Germans to hate and kill Jews

Yeah. That was just a republican lawmaker trying to cover his ass for illegally employing this criminal for 4 years. Interesting how
@FoxNews isn’t reporting that part of the story. If that republican had obeyed the law he would have been deported long ago - 1 more reply

I read this morning Rivera's lawyer claims he's legal because he was brought to the US as a minor and has worked and paid taxes for years. Also the employer thought they used e-verify but actually used a different system through SSA - a little misleading leaving that out.

The official that had mr. Rivera by the arm and in custody said that his employer said he use the E- verify system. Irregardless of the of the status, It has been brought to our attention that are e-verify system is vulnerable and it needs increased security.
