-
It will be hung on the one count. Not the other 17.

Consider this: Gates committed same or similar alleged crimes as Manafort. If convicted Manafort could get life in prison and Gates would go free. Please explain the Justice in that.
@jaketapper@MZHemingway@chucktodd@mitchellreports@Varneyco@MariaBartiromo -
One person took responsibility for their actions and confessed. The other went down kicking and screaming.
-
WRONG Gates was granted immunity from prosecution if he testified against Manafort. Then Gates he admitted he cheated Manafort AND he falsified IRS reports Manafort is charged with. Definitely not Justice.
-
Gates was not granted immunity, he plead guilty.https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2018/02/23/former-trump-aide-rick-gates-poised-plead-guilty-mueller-probe/358863002/ …
-
This doesn’t address immunity from the charges against Manafort for which Gates May be complicit. If I were a juror I would probably not convict someone when the witness admitted lying to the person who was charged. Who was guilty in that scenario?
-
You’re conflating a couple of different issues. Mr. Gates took a deal and will serve time. As part of the plea bargain, some charges were dismissed and the government promised not to file others. This is typical of plea bargaining, which takes place every day in every courtroom.
-
As for an accomplice getting a lighter sentence in exchange for cooperation, again that happens in every courtroom in the country. There are plenty of people on death row for crimes where a cooperative accomplice got off with a relatively minor penalty.
-
Read the tweet about Gates lying. You missed that point.

Huge failure for
#Mueller but what did you expect when you went after American citizens for political reasons. -
How is it a huge failure. A hung jury on 1 count out of 18 means nothing. If anything the prosecution will just drop that charge and accept the verdict for the OTHER 17. Research legal precedent because reality does not follow your political spin
-
He's full of that MAGA hope.
-
They reporting that it's more then ONE count. On Outnumber. We don't know if they reached any decision on the other 17 yet. But liberals you all said this was a open & shut case remember?
#failure -
His accountant admitted to helping him forge documents under oath and identified the document as the ones presented as exhibits. Gates testified to millions in fraud with a paper trail of forced documents to prove it. I am baffled by your struggle to grasp the reality here:
-
If you a jury and you got him guilty on all 17 and some guy is being a Ass on ONE count. You roll over and say fine not guilty. No this is BAD for Mueller. Most likely 17 not guilty and can't roll over to get home.
-
That makes no sense. Even if they’re hung on 5 counts there are still 13 others. With the paper trail presented the reality is at least the fraud count is a guilty verdict and that’s enough for serious jail time.

Don't worry, Brett. The spin is pretty obvious either way, right? If he's innocent it's clear evidence of a witch hunt. If he's guilty it's clear evidence of a witch hunt. How'd I do? Any jobs at Fox for another propagandist?
