In the United States, we believe that our country can shape world historical events, entire societies, and regions of the world through our force of will. But the idea that we could choose to change our own communities to be less reliant on cars is just unfathomable.
That's because the car is intertwined with our idea of freedom. For dense cities, people need to understand it's now become enslavement.
