seems the car one is inaccurate in that the cars aren't sufficiently separated.. this shows cars travelling very slow, like 10km/h?

I mean, in most downtown areas, realistically the road lanes arent any bigger than shown here. No one compares a freeway to a sidewalk.

Interesting that vehicles in transit lane move faster that ones in car lane, although distance between them is pretty same. Is there a reason for that ?

Over-simplified graphics, but the dots look about the right densities. Figures are broadly correct (if anything the transit one could go a lot higher - some commuter rail systems get up towards 100k/direction/hour)
