The right’s sudden embrace of the “mob” epithet is much more dangerous than politics as usual. The fear of the mob reflects antidemocratic thinking that, since the Founding, has helped thwart efforts to ensure political equality among all Americans.https://bit.ly/2Pn0Sgx

@ReicherStephen "Crowd psych: an attempt to say these people are mad, illegitimate. The powerful were afraid of crowds & thought to pathologize them. There's clear politics to this anti-collectivism, a clear conservative, elitist politics." #WeAreTheMobhttps://www.socialsciencespace.com/2016/02/stephen-reicher-on-crowd-psychology/ …

@AynRandPaulRyan, thank you for all the great spotlighting you've been doing on the anti-dissent implications of the GOP's "mob" rhetoric. I thought you might like to read the links in this thread for excellent context. #WeAreTheMob

Proposed rule changes make it more difficult to protest in DC, esp near the White House and make arrests more likely, especially at spontaneous events due to additional requirements for permits for which compliance is nearly impossible.
