    A great example of the dead end of surveillance regulation. A fusion center provides nominal notification of its governing board's public meeting. When the time comes, not enough of the board shows up to even have quorum to actually hold the meeting:

    It's so weird to me that this is framed as him being an informant, instead of the fact the FBI had at least some control over the Proud Boys. This guy was a leader and organizer right? So who is he "informing" on here? Imo this is way worse.

    This is punitive decarceration. Prison populations fall, jails swell, and all sorts of non-alternative "alternatives to incarceration" supplement the prison. Police intelligence & surveillance link it altogether: the nervous system of a devolving "carceral state."

    Very disturbing report from : US prison & jail populations fell in the 1st half of 2020, but jail populations have grown 10% since mid 2020. Lot of great detail here:

    here I was talking about incarceration as labor market regulation / less eligibility, and Brandes is working hard to prove that point

    Bill filed by Sen. Jeff Brandes in Florida would create exceptions for the $15 minimum wage increase. Voters passed it two months ago. People under 21, people w/ felony convictions, state prisoners and “other hard-to-hire employees" would be exempted from equal pay.
