I know some find the WEF a joke, or a rich creeper club, but its plans get operationalized by the likes of BlackRock. It's no joke, not to farmers such as Jeroen Van Maanen or all of us "useless eaters" downstream of him & his fellows (this isn't confined to the Netherlands). /1

Farmers in the Netherlands had been successfully reducing nitrogen pollution for years. Why, then, is the government demanding a 30-50% reduction in livestock? What role is the World Economic Forum playing? I travelled to Netherlands to investigate. michaelshellenberger.substack.com/p/green-elitis

I was dimly aware of WEF until 2008 or so, when Mozilla had interactions. Mitchell went to Davos and reported to all hands meeting a Russian Oligarch there. Some folks reacted negatively but Mitchell added "it's the right term, we have ours in the US too". She was 100% right. /2

Without getting derailed: even if you think "something must be done" about climate, it's obvious that billionaires rigging markets, front-running them, getting public subsides while foisting externalities + direct costs on the public, creating new pollution, isn't the answer. /3

For energy, per the Kaya Identity, the acid test for me is whether you support nuclear energy for baseline power. If you do, we can reason together. If not, you're out to lunch. On farming, it's more stark: WEF is engineering food shortages and price hikes: _malum in se_. /fin

This is a Lithium leach field. This is what your Electric Car batteries are made of. It is so neuro-toxic that a bird landing on this stuff dies in minutes. Take a guess what it does to your nervous system? Pat yourself on the back for saving the planet

Just watch their videos, read Herr Schwab + co-author's books. They say what they claim to believe and intend, and they act accordingly.

Hi, sorry I missed your reply till now (reading downthread). BTW I bet I’m older than you, “child”. Re: your substantive comment, I agree you have the simplest interpretation, see below. But my experience is that successful PR and think tank types over time join the high council.

That leaves out the simplest interpretation: WEF is a mirror held up for big attendance and membership ("partner") fees, to the vain-faced oligarchs who gaze into it. Mirror may be warped a bit, for better or worse.
