    The UK had a perfectly good pandemic plan worked out over 20 years. Sweden followed it, the UK threw it in the bin. Why? Now the ethical moral members of the JCVI are removed and those left submit to government pressure. What happened to integrity?

    Sweden never closed schools for the under-16s. Today, Sweden has zero Covid deaths without vaccinating children. Sweden achieved this miracle by allowing the young and healthy to get Covid and form a wall of immunity for their elders. It worked.

    My own take on vaccinating teens We are not simply protecting them from the virus- long covid, illness, death or infecting their family. We are protecting them from the indirect effects of the pandemic- the restrictions, the loss of school and life. It’s holistic.

    Quite a few people are complaining about the offer of vaccination to 16 & 17 year olds without parental consent. This is settled law in England since the 1986 judgement in Gillick, which has been repeatedly reaffirmed, most recently in Bell v Tavistock.

    This is disgraceful. The government vaccine advice committee has been gerrymandered by removing members. This is why the advice not to vaccinate under 18’s has changed in just 2 weeks. Can parents have any confidence in advice to vaccinate their children?
