I don’t know if you’ve been paying attention the past five years or so but Trump’s base does not actually give AF what Cruz or McConnell or Graham or any of these other folks have to say & will turn on them instantly if they don’t believe they’re supporting Trump.
The idea that the Republican establishment is in any way in control of what they have unleashed through their unfettered support of Trump up to this point is what constitutes delusional thinking on the part of the entire bipartisan establishment & the political punditry.
They really think they’re just going to shake hands with each other in the chamber and resume activity like it’s 2007. It’s not happening.
