Billionaires can only be billionaires if the masses live in poverty. Billionaire wealth is direct result of low & no wage workers not receiving their fair share of national prosperity generated from their labor. Slavery was no different. Masters own, slaves do the unpaid labor.

This is why I keep telling y'all that billionaires throwing lavish charity balls & handing out Rolex watches do not want structural change or any genuine relief for the working poor. They simply want to be celebrated for tossing coins to the paupers from the castle balcony.

During slavery there were Black & Indigenous slaveowners who participated in white supremacy, enslaved Black ppl & ran their own plantations, looking to join the society of white capitalists. Stop celebrating this behavior in 2019 like it's something new or a sign of progress.

In my career, as I've moved on up, less work has been required of me. I get to delegate much more and have more control of my schedule. Pretty sure this is how it normally works. The hard working CEO thing is largely a myth.
-
tiny counterpoint: managing people and effectively delegating is definitely a skill, and a valuable one. but it's not a billion times more valuable than making widgets or mopping floors.

Even if people manage to convince themselves that owner/managers work harder than workers, could any one person really be more valuable than 100 others? If salaries capped at 100x multiples, the rich would still be richer, but holy heck would a lot more people be better off.
-
And because we're all better off because of the extra cash, they richer would continue to get more rich because the people spending money have more of it. I don't know why they choose to ignore this fact if they just want more money.

The rich have convince "middle class" that they're closer to them oppose to the low income people, such a evil lie spun by the very 1000 uber rich who we all "serve". BTW FedEx paid ZERO taxes this yr n Gates regained topdog title
-
Yup the rich basically have their hands in the pockets of the middle class then convince them that the poor people are to blame for all their problems
