As the daughter of a small business owner, watching @amazon get $1.5 B in tax incentives is infuriating. My dad’s company will never get offered special perks like the ones Bezos gets.

Politicians turn their noses up at small businesses all the time. But the reality is, small businesses are the backbone of America’s economy. Small businesses make up 99.9% of American businesses and employ 58.9 million people.pic.twitter.com/uqtsyBzQLQ

I understand that my dad’s manufacturing company which has brought 35 jobs to Covina, California, isn’t as sexy of a headline as 25k jobs brought in by @amazon, but those 35 jobs were created WITHOUT government help.

Small business aren’t getting tax payer funded handouts and yet they employ 47.5 percent of Americans.

Thank GOD for business owners like your dad. They are the true life's blood of our American economy. What does Amazon need tax incentives for anyway! Bezos just wants to get richer!

Ok, I’m with you about small business, but the tax cuts were aimed at them. These types of large business incentives are so we keep the jobs, and those jobs over time offset the tax breaks. It’s really a win win in comparison to the alternatives.

They are being rewarded for their policy of squeezing margins of small businesses and putting them out of Business - 49% of internet Sales is now theirs - not right

The world has always belonged to the big and to the wealthy. How do billionaire sports team owners get cities to build them new arenas, stadiums, etc?

Nope. In fact it'll go the other way. Small and mid sized companies have to pay the government while big companies get paid by the gov just to exist.

Not just tax incentives. They also negotiate with the local utilities to get deep discounts and push the costs to other customers.

I agree, and Bezos is a liberal left Trump hater.. I’ll NEVER use Amazon again, especially knowing how much Bezos contributes to the Dems... Strang that we were always called the RICHRepulicans, but Democrat wealth far exceeds Republican wealth by Trillions..

Ya can't really blame Amazon for taking such a lucrative offer--especially what NYC and NY state shelled out to attract them. I'm sure Amazon leadership was just grinning when they saw how massive it was.

Would you rather the jobs and economic prosperity went somewhere else? Small businesses receive many tax incentives. This is a tiny incentive compared to the size of the company and benefit it will bring to the area.
