True, but all are things to consider. I have diff handguns for diff situations. I have smaller hands, so a double stack .45 doesnt fit my hands well, my single stack does. Im a Soldier, so Im trained on semi-autos. My wife is not as experienced, so she carries a revolver.

Don't make this too hard--visit the http://wellarmedwoman.com site--great information resource. Many ranges rent a wide variety of weapons--it is the best way to confirm whether one that seems right is suitable for you. But these are good points to consider if you intend to carry.

Good point. Ranges will rent you diff handguns for anyone to try. I have helped many friends, both men and women, purchase their first firearm. I always ask those types of questions to better understand what they are wanting.

Good on ya! I have a "doh" story for importance of research-increasing illegal imm crime in our area (~1990)-wife picked out a 9mm Charter Arms Pit Bull-rimmed 5 shot revolver-ammo also fit in 32s. Fed stopped making it that year-can't find-or pay $50 a box! I reload so good, but

That's what it sounds like at first...until you go through 3 or 4 guns before you find the right one for you. And when you consider the consequences of not getting this one right, it's much worse than being wrong on clothes.
