The Amazon is an important biome not only for Brazil, but for the whole world. Many illegal actions have compromised it in the past. The Brazilian government has therefore been promoting campaigns and implementing actions to protect and strengthen its forests.pic.twitter.com/rjybS0wCgs

The effects of Brazil's commitment are already evident! From 2016 to 2017, the rate of deforestation in the Amazon region decreased by 12%, compared to the previous period, accounting for 65% of the goal defined in the national policy on climate change.pic.twitter.com/OXhUAruikP

The yellow and green image shows an illustration of a tree in the center. Along with it, the word “trees” is emphasized. The text reads “No more trees down”.

The National Policy on Climate Change also established a 40% reduction target for 2020 for the Cerrado region. Data collected in 2017 indicates a reduction of 53% in the same comparison as for the Amazon region, thus exceeding by 13% the target established in the Policy.

Since May 2018 Brazil also counts on Sinaflor (Sistema Nacional de Controle da Origem dos Produtos Florestais), the National System for Control of the Origin of Forest Products.pic.twitter.com/VTjKbzFpwg

The picture is an illustration. It shows an explorer with a knife inside the woods. In front of him there are the following words “The scenario of th Brazilian forests mapped and ready for analysis”

With Sinaflor, Brazil has an overview of forest product flows within the national territory. Data on wood exploitation is available to all citizens on the Ibama portal - Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources.

Fires need to be controlled, be they in farms or forests. In Brazil, a bill has been proposed to define procedures on combating fire and fire management. The measure will take into account norms laid down in the Brazilian Forest Code.pic.twitter.com/MNVSFnVYg4

The image shows a firefighter in front of a tree. There are several blue lines formed by different patterns. In the center there’s a yellow box with details in red. Inside it there’s the following text “Controlling fire in farms and forests”
