Throughout the country, the initiative has 211 Rehabilitation Centers and 35 workshops that provide access to orthotics, prosthetics and other devices to enhance mobility.
Identifying disabilities early is one of the top priorities for guaranteeing children the support they need to grow well. One of the highlights is the “Teste da Orelhinha” (Little ear test), how the newborn hearing-screening is called in Brazil.
The newborn hearing-screening exam receives investments for the acquirement of equipments.
By 2019, it is intended for the government finance the acquisition of apparatuses for 737 maternity wards, thus increasing the number of newborns who are still pregnant at maternity.
The qualification of health professionals has also been one of the policy guidelines for the health of people with disabilities.
Since 2012, more than 22 thousand professionals in the area have been trained to care for people with disabilities, 12 thousand of them in the last three years alone.

The project has been implemented in more than 50 thousand public schools so far, acting as a tool for expanding inclusion arrangements for many Brazilians.
