What's wrong with it? He knows the law and he is right to ask why he is being detained. This is a lesson for anyone that gets stopped especially people of color. I don't have to give them my name and I don't have to give them my phone. Get a search warrant.

I'm sorry Neil, I'm trying to be respectful but I can't. "What's wrong with it?" What's wrong with you? Police nicely ask for video footage of incident- he refuses to give it? Shows off his legal background? He has an overt disdain for cops and he's the DA! That's what wrong! Omg

You just hate that people are mean to the police, who need you to defend them.

1) I don't hate anyone. 2) I believe people in general should be helpful when you can- it's leads to a better society. Isn't that was SF is about? 3) I especially believe in helping police because of their job - all they wanted was video footage. Can't just send it them, really?

@BravoSFPols I don’t think you hate. I believe you are passionate and presumingly, biased towards police - nothing wrong with that Others are predisposed to different bias and for good reason Perhaps we ask them why they are not as deferential to police as you?2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -

Part of, not only, the reason that my bias is different is because of things like this and many such incidents that occur without consequences for police or takes too long. https://apple.news/AcnnmhitgQMiFgvZPKbokmw … I’m partial to checks and balances, words, and votes, not guns or the unelected

There are ~700,000 police officers in the US. Like any grouping of people, there will be bad actors - but we can't just then paint them all with a broad brush. We are trying to create a safe society, which means we need to work in partnership with the police.

I get that and I don’t paint them with a broad brush. Until I see some reforms that root out these bad actors for good, not just enable them to move from one police Dept to another, I am not changing my bias Their bad acting can be lethal and there is no recovery from that

But does that mean you shouldn't/wouldn't assist ANY police officers if they need assistance like - hey can I have your video footage? You should watch the @SupStefani townhall with the chiefs of police. They want our help.
