That’s a perfect way to frame your thread. I fully support avoiding the pitchfork mentality and knee jerk reactions. We, as voters, should keep our humanity while working to find solutions that doesn’t have this happen to others.

My goodness, is it that hard to differentiate first time offenders who make a tragic mistake vs those who commit a violent crime every fortnight? The latter need to be shut away from doing more harm.

EXACTLY druzzy! This isn't rocket science and we don't need to contemplate and think about and do more research! If repeat offenders are put in jail for at least 1 year each time, I have a feeling they'll stop.
