This article is worth a re-read as it's been updated a few times now. Some key missing parts about why this man was roaming the streets have been filled in. know that they will 1) likely be caught, and 2) will have to spend meaningful time in prison, crime will drop significantly – it’s not ingenious, it’s common sense.

Respectfully disagree that it’s common sense. To you perhaps but not to me and not to many here in the city either. Bunch of open questions on public surveillance - don’t believe in a police state. Also don’t want to spend more money on police without first rethinking it.

Neil, let me ask you a very basic question. Do you know the FIRST thing police look for when a crime was committed? It's video footage- they canvas the areas DESPERATELY looking for video footage. It's VERY far fetched to say we'd turn into a "police state".
