Randomly scrolling through the Twitter and came across the best surprise I've had in a long time. 🇳🇱 I've made the Dutch Cycling Embassy feed! 🇳🇱

☑️ Safe infrastructure ☑️ Proper design ☑️ Confident and independent children ☑️ Calm and worry free parents Dutch design is there to be studied, copied, and applied all over the world in it's proper form. Take advantage of the example and information they offer!

Best example in that I can think of that fits this specific problem. Space for people completely cut in half for a car sewer.

Your kids are watching. Even if you're at a light, texting and driving is irresponsible, dangerous, and a terrible example for kids.

At this intersection are eight people waiting in single occupancy vehicles taking up three lanes of traffic vs 13 people on foot and bikes taking up a 10’ wide bike path. It’s time to give space back to people.

In the US, you're just told to mix with cars and detour 20 minutes out of your way.

What happens when you hit a deep pothole and your full water bottle bounces out of bottle cage at busy intersection (Burns @ Highway 61) and gets run over by auto traffic? This:

I know way too many people that would call this a successful design and shower praise upon their city leaders for it. 😒

In 2018, the US spent 16.9% of its gross domestic product on healthcare - almost double that of other high-income nations. Despite this, the US has a lower life expectancy, higher suicide rate, and higher rates of hospitalization due to chronic disease.

No joke. Kids arrive by themselves. They have the infrastucture to safely use the right tool.

How do your kids get to school? There are no school buses in Joensuu, Finland 🇫🇮

If either my local, state, or federal government here in the US offered financial incentives for me to buy an ebike to help replace car trips, I would go out and buy that e-cargo bike I have my eye on today. However, incentives remain only for cars....

One could say "Is this Minnesota?!" Nope, Minnesota kids get driven to school/hockey by their parents in a conga line of SUVs because "people can't bike where there's winter".
