You're totally missing the point. She's saying that people with balanced brain chemistry (people who don't have clinical heightened anxiety or chemical imbalances) don't feel the urge to use any type of drug in order to feel like a normal, sociable person
It’s not about not having to do drugs! It’s just about being uncomfortable in social situations or situations in general and finding coping mechanisms that others don’t have to find. Some people use drugs and alcohol
It’s just absolutely not a healthy way to cope instead of getting help. If they have to get drunk or stoned to be in public, it’s probably better to address and work on that issue than relying on drugs. That’s how addiction and dependence can start.

The point was that you never had the kinds of problems that drove some other people to use drugs. We don’t choose what body/brain/life we’re born into; if you’d happened to be born as her & she you then she wouldn’t use, & you would, & she wouldn’t understand why you do either.
