What a terrific podcast where is unusually candid on his learning experience as FERC commissioner. Never thought I would want to dig in on arcana of wholesale utility market regulation but increasingly important for climate mitigation.

IMHO this episode ranks in our top 5 all time. 2 reasons to listen: 1) demonstrates there are Republicans in key positions that are making thoughtful climate policy; 2) you will learn a lot about the actual ins and outs of FERCs key orders, decision making processes and more

Given policy & personnel of the next admin, we might still eventually see this as part of a long Obama era, with Trump one of a series of backlashes to its advance rather than the launch of a different era. Obama’s legacy & future footprint is now even more secure.

This is so important. There is *extremely* stubborn and outdated CW among the political class, across commentators, and politicians about climate stuff. It's basically like healthcare is for Dems, if Dems would just lean into it.
