Still my favorite SciFi movie. Hauer did the lines in an adlib Scott decided to keep. Can you even fathom that movie being a financial failure in the beginning?
Blade Runner is a visionary classic! The film was released close to other major science-fiction & fantasy releases such as The Thing, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Conan the Barbarian and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, which affected its commercial success.

The atmosphere and air of that movie is still very futuristic to this day..it's one of those movies that has tremendous feel to it.

I agree - this is a beautiful scene. It captures one of those moments when the 'full-catastrophe-drama of everyday life' ceases long enough for us to catch a glimpse of something greater. At best, that glimpse grants us relief through perspective, so we carry on with less fear.

Right in my wheel house...early 80s. All those were good. To this day, The Thing was the one in that group I had my older kids watch. Now one of their favorites.
