Don't you think you're a bit biased!? I'm all for getting over with the charade, but I do like people having the option to get out of the office
Of course I am biased ;) that said, it feels like everything has slowed down to a degree...customer service, processing, progress... It is difficult to innovate, collaborate or resolve concerns effectively through a Zoom environment...it just feels stupid.

Outside of the IT sector I could see this, I work for a fortune 300 company as the head of a high performance team, covid didn't slow us down. We were busier than ever and collaboration over teams was easy and gained more participation, because some of my team are introverts 1/2

Because they're introverts a lot of the time in a face to face meeting they would be silent and good ideas wouldn't get out there. That's basically eliminated and this team of incredibly smart IT ppl have an opportunity to not feel embarrassed and still get their point heard

110,000% agree. Their has to be a delineation. You can "get some work done" at home from time to time. But you cant really "work" from home. The office environment is a setting that propagates creativity and productivity.

I can feel that, especially from your perspective, being a developer etc. I have a small communications business & have been busier than ever, not bragging, just thankful. We're not out of the woods by a long shot, I believe this is only part of a bigger consolidation of control.

Let's not forget,work frm home was bcos of the pandemic.Yes, there wud be a hit in productivity,but its way better than employees falling sick in masses or worse-deseased employees. Now new employees have to be hired n trained via zoom calls

There are several different detracting aspects of Zoom and remote working, when deviating from established business models of a traditional office setting, live meeting environment. Established dynamics of interpersonal communication styles, overall effectiveness is diminished.
