Not exactly ;) I simply tried to have realistic expectations based on what I believed, which was that there was a 95% probability that there was a conventional explanation for that which had been reported. Was I hopeful that I could prove/confirm the opposite? Absolutely! ;)

I felt there was a 5% chance based on my own limited due diligence regarding the phenomenon, and my own long-held personal belief that we are not alone in the universe.
