Honoring both of my grandfathers who served valiantly in World War II, this Memorial Day. Boyd Fugal was a decorated & skilled naval pilot, awarded the Silver Star & Air Medal. Grandpa Boyd Fugal was a giant of a man...very humble, soft spoken...he didn’t even speak of his war experiences or acknowledge any of the recognition until late in life. Same with Grandpa Jack Boren, who has a quiet strength & example. Both loved God, Family, and Country.

Great photos. I don’t supposed they ever reported aerial anomalies during their flights? My father was a Lancaster bomber pilot and he told me of lights that would follow the flight during missions.
