This year's Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror episode was the absolute worst they've ever done. I know I say that every year, but every year for the last fifteen or sixteen years, it's been true. It's like they're actually trying to out-crap themselves.

In Pandemic Unleashed brought us, Insanire. A story about a woman who becomes increasingly paranoid while she stays isolated with her family as a virus ravages the world. Read this story in volume 1 of our Unleashed Anthology series.

Classic crime fiction. One of Keene's lesser-known works, this is a fantastic nautical noir set (mostly) on a trans-Pacific steamer to Samoa. Intrigue, both international and domestic, and of course, murder, result.

Classic crime fiction. Daniels had a very short career as writer, publishing six novels in three years in the mid-50s, then this one in 1962. GM tried to make it look like sleaze, but it's a quasi-literary murder story. The ending is inevitable, but the journey there is great.

This is actually a pretty interesting read, if you enjoy architecture and/or urbanism.

Reading today. It's odd for a Keene. The plot is interesting, but the prose reads like a hasty first draft. I've never encountered a Keene that feels this unpolished, not even the lousy Graphix Publishing novels he wrote strictly for the checks.
