"Doctor” is Latin for father, teacher, adviser, and scholar. It more closely relates to the Hippocratic and Oslerian ideal of what a physician should be.

As a Jewish physician myself, no, no it didn’t. It’s just a generic term encompassing many layers of healthcare made common usage by insurance companies.
