The predatory lending by the lending institutions needs to be placed in the spotlight as well. No one needs a new camaro or mustang to drive while in college. You can work & go to college. I worked part time, took 18 hours per semester, and raised 2 toddlers. It sucked = No debt
Student debt is a favored talking point of the Marxist Democrats but it needs to be tackled at the college and University level too, not government. These institutions have long been overcharging for sub-standard education and Congress needs to address this.

Also, if government is funding, government will tell you what classes you can take. That doesn't end well for the individual, thus society. Unless you're high in the communist (democrat) party .
