Many hit the 5000 follows limit, then look at their list and remove old some follows who didn’t follow them back. That allows them to move forward following new accounts, bold emerging voices. Too badTwit has a limit, but... bandwidth? No worries, new follows keep growing too.

In answer to your question; no, it isn't. If your following is so small that you can notice when it drops by 100, you have bigger problems than Twitter culling bots.
