It's the same with my Sicilian Culture. We are considered Italian Americans or Sicilian Americans, not just Americans. And I was born in America as well as thousands of Sicilians/Italians!
African-Americans have been here almost 300 years, yet we still don't call them (and Asians) just AMERICANS yet. Calling them by their country of origin first is the real systemic racism because it keeps an unspoken distance between us and them. Let change begin here.

If yer African, Asian, Muslim, S American, any place other than USA American first, you should move there long enough to establish a comparison then make a permanent choice. People who live in USA America should be required to assimilate. Foreign cultures belong in foreign lands

You are absolutely correct, and it's the black community that keeps segregating themselves. They have their own channels, their own awards shows, etc. We are one. End the self segregation.

Well the reason we have those is because for decades white channels wouldn’t have our shows Nor would they honor our Artists and musicians so we had to do it ourselves
