I recently had the opportunity to sit down with the Dean of the University of Cincinnati School of Engineering and Applied Science, Dr. Weidner, to discuss my work in DC as a part of the interview series. Check it out!

Eating less meat is nearly always better for your carbon footprint than eating the 'most sustainable' meat. The ‘worst' peas, beans, tofu and nuts still have a lower footprint than the ‘best’ meat and dairy. Latest article:

The Chemical Saftey Board acts as a non-regulatory body that investigates chemical accidents so that they may be prevented in the future. Chemical engineers agree that the current administration would be making a HUGE mistake by eliminating this critical federal agency.

The Hummer is making a comeback, only this time it won't guzzle gas. General Motors announced that it will start selling a battery-powered Hummer pickup truck in September of 2021.

Our best estimate is that 100% of the warming the world has experienced is due to human activities. Natural factors – changes in solar output and volcanoes – would have led to slight cooling over the past 50 years:

To put this into perspective, the pre-industrial revolution carbon dioxide concentration was about 280 ppm

Given that even a doctorate has never stopped ANY of these types of men from disrespecting my expertise, I'm quite confident that there's not a single economics degree on the planet that would cause him to respect her. You go !

My gap year ends in August, but it doesn’t take a college degree in economics to realise that our remaining 1,5° carbon budget and ongoing fossil fuel subsidies and investments don’t add up. 1/3

Mayor of Isle of Palms, to SC State Senate today on offshore drilling in SC, “We can’t afford to risk our coastlines...oil rigs are like hurricanes, it’s not a matter of if, but when they’ll spill” Local communities make it clear: we want our coast kept clean!

which has more environmental impact, choosing 'local' or choosing certain foods? production=83% of food emissions delivery=4% "Shifting less than 1 day/wk from red meat/dairy to chicken, fish, eggs, veg = more GHG reduction than buying all local food"

The pic on the left is from a scene in Interstellar, set some +-50 years in the future. The pic on the right is from Dubbo, Aus today. Dust storms are a naturally cyclical phenomenon, however are becoming increasingly more common in bone-dry conditions imposed by climate change.

Nearly six in ten (58%) are now either “Alarmed” or “Concerned;” from 2014 to 2019, the proportion of “Alarmed” nearly tripled while Doubtful + Dismissive stayed the same. My take-home? 80-90% can be moved, big-time. Let's not waste our time on the rest. via

The politicization of energy sources has done a great disservice to implementing a constructive solution to climate change. Moving forward, it is important to realize that this is not us vs. them. It is humanity vs. the problem.

It is astonishing, when you think about it, that the dominant belief in economics holds that no matter how rich a country is, their GDP should keep rising, year after year, with no identifiable end point, irrespective of the ecological costs. It is the definition of absurdity.
