Is it? A guy was just browbeaten out of his position at a charity and the head of a website because he dared to say that his editorial wasn't all about a former game developer. And you said that he's the one in power here because he's a white guy with 100,000 FEWER followers.

It is. You clearly stopped reading after the first dozen words of my tweet. You're somehow arguing that a guy with a Twitter following and a large publishing platform, who can use these things in a way that animates bitter boys to harass a woman (again), does not have power here.

He was, at best, careless when he threw bones to GamblerGate into an article about ethics, and had the real knock-on effect of greasing machinery that was built to harass mostly one person. I don't know why she's not allowed to point that out, or what truth you would speak to her

The truth I would speak to everyone is that, as Pitts said, some people in gamergate actually did care about ethics, and some of those people aren't pure evil, and that we should be able to have an adult conversation about the topic without closing our ears singing la la la.

To Russ. Like...I don't remember the original tweet perfectly but it was not...deserving of this. Like this is Twitter. This isn't that big of a deal. If you feel bad say sorry and move on and ignore the bullies and bastards. I just don't get it.

While I still believe his article was written intentionally, it's clear he had no idea just how bad this would get. On top of that, it didn't really drive much traffic to The Escapist. Calling it now: He won't be coming back and The Escapist will be closed inside 6 months tops.
