both. people are having to manually search my name to find my videos. not a single person has showed me a notification or my videos being in their subboxes.

I checked in the advanced settings on that particular video and the “publish to all subscribers and send out notifications” box was unticked and greyed out so I couldn’t re-tick it. Why was it set to that by default?
