Just so you know I've just Googled about bananas growing in the UK AND there are some instances of them being grown but only in very selective circumstances. For banana growing on any sort of commercial scale a building not unlike the Crystal Palace would be needed

The genus Musa has several members in cultivation, but virtually none produce edible/palatable fruits, and most won't bother fruiting at all in our climate.

Hi James. Technically, banana stems are found underground. The 'trunks' you see are actually overlapping leaf sheaths. But I get your point haha
