Despite being a fully paid up member of the jacamo target audience I've been lucky enough to be fast shamed directly. But even so I've been programmed to know that my extra pounds make me ugly in society. I have got dressed for a night out, looked in the mirror and stayed in 1/2

You see, I look at your profile pic and think: ‘That dude looks so rugged and badass. Why can’t I look like that?’ It’s weird how other people often see us very differently to how we see ourselves. And even weirder how much mental effort we spend giving ourselves a hard time!

The thing I find most annoying is every single psychological body will tell you shame drives unhealthy behaviour, it doesn’t fix it.

It's total ignorance to blame or call someone lazy for being fat. We live in an obesogenic environment, if you have the talent to store fat (and it is a gift), this sort of environment is treacherous for you.

Loved this. I was an athlete in uni, and then blew out to seriously obese once I started working at a desk all day, surrounded by snack food options. Definitely remember the looks and jeers when I started working out, working towards a healthier weight.
