What an embarrassment to our country.

Not *in this case.* As the article points out near the end, not traveling to (and thereby disrupting) the funeral of a former First Lady is common among recent Presidents.
-
I understand, that being said - racial Barack Obama didn't want to attend the funeral of racist Nancy Reagan. But Donald Trump not attending the funeral of a First Lady of his own party feels strange to me.
-
It should have been bi-racial, not racial. Sorry, auto-correct.

Don't get me wrong, I hate Trump as much as the next guy, but don't sitting presidents usually not go to funerals of former First Ladies?
-
He attended Billy Graham's funeral; so much for "avoiding disruptions due to added security & respect for family and friends attending the service." Was BG more important than Former First Lady Barbara Bush?
-
He attended Billy Graham's funeral to pander to his base. There is no political benefit to him attending Barbara Bush's funeral.
-
You are spot on!

He’s probably unwelcome. He’s an embarrassment and should stay home. No one wants him there anyway.

How dare you, Donald Trump? On the other hand, I guess Melania doesn't want him by her side anyway.
