I disagree. Many people who have a security clearance from government employment go on to work in industry which requires that clearance. A person in the military working in the intelligence field might land a job as a contractor working in the same facility as a civilian.

What if they land a job at CNN using their clearance as leverage for higher pay?
-
Having a clearance does not give you access to anything. You must also have a "need to know" and once you go to work for CNN, one no longer has a "need to know". So the pulling of the clearance is basically symbolic. Has no real effect.
-
Just because one has a top secret clearance doesn't mean they can just walk in someplace and say "give me all the top secret information you have, I'm cleared for it".

Will trumps people get to keep their clearance. I'll bet people will call for terminating the clearance of most if not all when the time comes.

A full time agency (FBI?) should control clearances, not the President.

So Trump is correct in saying these security clearances should all be terminated once they leave govt. MSM rips Trump for the very thing the Globe in this case advocates! Reason
