Boston conservatives. I hear you. As a progressive, I like Charlie Baker, which means you probably hate him! But as you review your options, please be aware that Baker opponent Scott Lively talks a good game, but is unfit for office.

He has for many years been obsessed to an unhealthy degree with the “evil of homosexuality” and believes it is the source of history’s greatest atrocities. He has written a book called “The Pink Swastika” in which he claims that all the leaders of the Nazi party were gay.
-
The book is available for free on Lively’s website. I would prefer not to advertise it by posting a link, but you will easily find it with a Google search.

In 2017, Lively was charged with Crimes Against Humanity for his work in Uganda, helping to develop anti-homosexuality legislation. The legislation included exceedingly harsh punishments, including execution.

The case was dismissed on a technicality, but the judge made clear: “The question before the court is not whether Defendant’s actions in aiding and abetting efforts to demonize, intimidate, and injure LGBTI people in Uganda constitute violations of international law. They do.”

Aside from these extreme beliefs which, in my opinion, do NOT reflect the values of our state, Mr. Lively has no experience in government. He is an attorney, activist, and (apparently) “one of the world’s foremost experts on... the global homosexual movement and agenda.”pic.twitter.com/ppRfTMjlHs

That Scott Lively is unfit for office is my own opinion. In Massachusetts, we value and protect the democratic principles of our electoral process. Each of us is free to vote as we think best. When it comes to Scott Lively, I think the people of Massachusetts deserve better.
