New Hampshire doesn't border another country. Why do they need a border patrol? Isn't the motto of that state "live free or die"?

I completely believe that the border patrol shouldn't be doing anything up there but New Hampshire does have a border with Canada. https://www.visitnh.gov/getting-around-nh/travel-resources/crossing-the-canadian-border …

the answer should be #planetearth. All political borders are recent fiction that have no reference to native populations. If we replace ICE asshats with representatives from indigenous populations, the question MIGHT have validity...

Refuse to answer questions. Do it politely. Don’t avoid the checkpoint. Ask repeatedly and calmly whether the agent has “reasonable suspicion” necessary to detain you. You should never be too busy to affirm your rights.

The more prescient question would be why do you support random checkpoints at which American citizens are interrogated and forced to show their identification? Do you not value the Constitution and the Bill of Rights?

I put public safety before political correctness. Did you know they did these checkpoints even when Obama was Prez?

Public safety from what, a bus traveler? If we subvert our fundamental freedoms because we are scared, the terrorists on 9/11 have won. We are an open society, and we should fight to keep it that way. Obama was seriously flawed, so no, that wouldn't surprise me if true.

Completely legal and has been done for decades (and I’ve been through it on the southern border as well) and it clearly works as intended...
