Hey, @YouTube & @TeamYouTube. Let me teach you about a thing called fan-creators. We create stuff (music, animations, etc.) inspired by shows, games, movies, books, etc., and people view it. Some of us are literally living off of the ad revenue.

They’re not going to ignore orders from the federal government for a handful of people who like ponies my guy, the government already took 170 million from them and will take way more if they don’t do this.

So, YouTube is taking ads and comments away from any videos that are considered "kid-friendly". So, pretty much any MLP fan creation (unless it is clearly for mature audiences) is hosed.

...whoa. So where's the imminent exodus taking us? Time for Derpibooru to start a video section?

We wouldn't be able to offer anything better - the site's not operated for a profit, and in fact we don't even charge for most of the ads we display on the site (we do a lot of free advertising for creators). There's no way we could do revenue sharing or anything like that.

A lot of artists stopped relying on youtube for income long ago and this isn't just about ad revenue and monetization. Notifications, comments, and recommendations are being taken away too, so this is a total communications blackout being dropped on us.
