I’m talking about just words. Your rules, not mine. If anything can be said without consequence as long as you’re just joking, then wishing harm on someone is harmless.

But he wasn’t playing a joke on his audience. He was targeting someone outside his audience, and since he was aiming for race and sexuality rather than personal digs, a whole bunch of other people besides.
