Just noticed that the rcu mailing list appears now on: had created it recently. The way you subscribe is the same as Linux-kernel. In my experience it has been a great place for RCU related discussions, questions/answers, ideas etc.

As part of Al Viro beating some sense into me wrt fd passing dependencies, he also posted a rather good and detailed explanation of file references and UNIX inflight GC collection. It's too good not to share, so here it is:

I think 's old page is the resource that helped me the most to quickly understand a nice range of lock-free and performance issues in general. The articles are all only a few paragraphs long each, it's such a high signal:noise ratio

I don't always post job listings, but when I do, the position is on my own team, and also includes memory management :) Others on the team include , , (and more without a twitter handle).

Linus Torvalds just merged 2 new membarrier syscall features in preparation for Linux 4.16-rc1: fast barrier across all processes (for shared memory), and fast intra-process core serializing barrier (for JIT memory reclaim). Enjoy!

Excited about the Memory Model (LKMM) formalised in the 'cat' language and queued for inclusion in 4.17! Now just need to understand where OpenRISC fits in. Answers on a postcard...
