As someone who's had to investigate credit card fraud via phone and Internet, I have to say that Cyberpunk 2077's "your body doesn't define your gender, your voice does" approach is wild, harmful and utterly baffling.

Like, even in TLOU2 with a set character gender of always female, the enemies use "they" most of the time because they aren't sure if the terrifying ninja in the shadows is one gender or another

Yeah, NPCs psychically knowing genders was pretty cringe back in Tench 2 (2000) so I really don't see why more games don't lean into the gender neutral approach. It's really not that hard... but since it's CDPR I assume they want some edgey content in there.
