THREAD: 1) I am sad to announce that I have not obtained enough signatures to be on the primary ballot in this election cycle. A minimum of 1,000 signatures is needed, plus you always want to be sure that you have a “cushion” above the minimum; the WEC always throws some out.

2) I got to 806, which is close, but not close enough. Not to make excuses, but the pandemic did put a severe crimp in my plans. I want to thank everyone who helped to collect signatures for me, and I’ll be sending handwritten thank you notes to those for whom I have addresses.

3) I’ve checked the FEC’s website; I’m waiting for a return call from an analyst there, but it’s my understanding that I can redesignate my campaign committee as being for the next election cycle immediately, by simply filing a form electronically.

4) If that’s correct, I’ll be filing the form shortly, after speaking with the analyst about timing and other questions I have about reporting finances when redesignating a committee. I will be back in 2022, hopefully without a pandemic!

5) I learned a lot this time around, & I believe that knowledge will be useful in future elections. In the meantime, I plan to rest a bit, to continue to recover, to continue to educate & speak out, to continue to work for causes in which I believe, & to continue to challenge...
